The above table shows the current training programme as from Monday 14th September 2006.
We are always looking to develop more water time and will introduce it as and when practical. You must fully utilize all water time available to make the individual progress you are seeking. The ultimate water time with earlier night finishes and more morning water time with structured days off is a goal we will continue to work towards. You must use your sessions or loose them (Thursday evenings are thin on swimmers).

Squads

  • Performance Squad: This is the premier squad in the programme and will be for the swimmers who will commit to a minimum of 6-7 sessions per week that will include at least one morning session. Swimmers will be aiming for National Standard swimming.
  • Youth Squad: For swimmers who are unable to commit to Performance Squad or swimmers not at a developmental stage to move into Performance Squad. Swimmers will still be expected to compete out at the appropriate level (Graded to National) and attend morning workout.
  • Age Group Development: For middle age group swimmers who will commit to following the structured training programme and a minimum of 5-6 sessions a week including a morning session. Swimmers will be striving for a place in the Performance Squad and swim out at District level plus relevant selected open meets.
  • Junior Age Group Development: For the younger developing swimmers in the programme who will have come to the programme via one of the Island Clubs or the Transition Group. Attendance will be a minimum of 4 to 5 sessions per week.
  • Transition Squad: For swimmers who have been identified via their club/league matches/ National Coach for a trial/ transition period of further development before progressing into the JAGD Squad.
