Results: British Olympic Trials

The British Olympic Trials started yesterday with heats in the evening and finals in the morning.

Grant Halsall, who now trains with Plymouth Leander, has swum the 100m backstroke in the heats finishing 22nd overall in a time of 59.27 seconds. Grant became the first IoM Swimmer to go sub 60 seconds for the distance and in the process he has smashed his own Island Junior record and captured the senior record held previously by Dane Harrop.

Grant has the 200m backstroke on Wednesday evening, the 100m butterfly on Friday. Olivia swims the 200m freestyle on Staurday evening.

Well done to Grant and best wishes to Grant and Olivia for their forthcoming swims.
