Island Games: Rhodes Island Games Team Announced

The Isle of Man Swimming Association has announced a team of twelve swimmers to represent the Isle of Man at the 12th NatWest Island Games in Rhodes from 30th June to July 7th 2007.

The team has a blend of older swimmers, including Dane Harrop and Niall Killey with many Island appearances between them.

Selected for their second Island Games are Rachel Ganly, Olivia Rawlinson, Giselle W-Riley, Kate Bielich, Matthew Quayle and Jonathan Price, who will be looking to build on their experience at Shetland.

Newcomers Tom Isaac, Alice Hartley, Heather Millar and Grant Halsall round out the team.

Rachel Ganly and Niall Killey were selected as the team captains.

The swimmers will be supported by team staff, Terri Salmon (Team Manager), Max Stewart (National Coach), Phil Salmon (Assistant National Coach) and Physio Ben Scott.

All of the swimmers selected have achieved the demanding consideration times for the Games. The team members are now in training fully focused on their goals for Rhodes that hopefully will see all the swimmers making finals and chasing hard for the big medals.
